The science

Evidence over
noise.

We base the formulation on research around active adults, endurance sport, circulation, energy metabolism and cellular protection. What we can support, we say plainly. What we cannot support, we leave out.

Four areas we point to.

01

Beetroot and nitric oxide (NO)

Dietary nitrates may influence blood flow and exercise efficiency. This has been studied in both trained and recreational athletes.

02

Magnesium and muscle function

Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and helps reduce tiredness and fatigue.

03

B vitamins and energy

Vitamins B3, B5, B6 and B12 contribute to normal energy metabolism. B3, B6 and B12 also support normal nervous system function.

04

Antioxidants and cellular protection

Vitamins C and E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. The formula also contains berry extracts and alpha-lipoic acid.

From ingredient to evidence

The supplied scientific background discusses nitric oxide, energy metabolism, muscle buffering and oxidative stress. These processes are relevant to active ageing, but research on an individual ingredient does not establish the effect of the complete Activator 40+ formula.

Nitrate research uses measured nitrate doses and specific exercise protocols. The formula contains 1500 mg of beetroot extract per serving; that extract weight is not the amount of nitrate. Results from nitrate studies cannot therefore be directly translated into a promised product effect.

Beta-alanine is studied in relation to muscle carnosine and buffering during intensive exercise. Daily dose, duration of use and exercise type matter when interpreting those results. The 2000 mg per serving in this formula should not be equated with every research protocol.

The supplied background also discusses women during and after menopause. This provides context for research on ageing; it does not establish that Activator 40+ treats menopausal symptoms or changes hormone levels.
